Mayor Romero supports Fentanyl Encampments at bus stops; Citizens report the need to carry a gun on bus for safety; Sun Tran Survey; Supporting those supporting change
This week TCFC received an unusually large number of pictures, emails and alerts to posts on nextdoor.com about feeling unsafe as riders of the Free Crime Bus. The Free Crime Bus is supported by Mayor Regina Romero and Tucson City Council members, Kevin Dahl, Paul Cunningham, Lane Santa Cruz, Steve Kozachik and Nikki Lee.
The Mayor and Council set policy for TPD and city departments. Mayor Romero and Council have given TPD directives to stop enforcing our laws through policy of non-enforcement. Below you will find photographed examples of what happens when a community does not enforce laws.
This notice on nextdoor.com titled "Not safe to ride the busses anymore" is an example of how some riders now feel a GUN is needed to be safe to ride on the Free Crime Bus. One employer told us their employees report the need "to carry knives on the bus to feel safe."

Story From A TCFC Member's firsthand account description of Mayor Romero's apparent order to support encampments at Bus Stops:
"Today I was driving around in Ward 3 and I came across this lovely free safe bus stop. I noticed a bunch of fentanyl users all hunched over behind the umbrella and they had a lot of foil on the ground. Sun Tran even came and cleaned up AROUND them. Two cops drove by and did not even take notice."

Tucson, only you can effect change. It is time to hold the current Mayor and Council accountable for their failed policies. You can stand on the sidelines and watch the continued demise of our city or VOTE to change the trajectory. City of Tucson General Election is November 7, 2023: vote by mail or drop-off only. If you don’t mail it, they don’t count it!
Romero does not live in Tucson. Doesn’t she live out west in the foothills where she has trouble avoiding deer?
I walk every morning from Oracle and River to the Chuze Gym. The Circle K at the corner is filled with people doing drugs every morning. When I walk down the sidewalk the ditch is filled with trash and debris from these people. Last week as I was walking I saw two homeless people having sex. She was totally naked and could care less who saw them. I yelled at them and they just laughed. I’ve called the city numerous times about this filth and they say it’s the county. I call the county and they say it’s the state. Nobody takes responsibility and nothing gets done. This mayor could care less what happens to this city. That’s the scary thought because sooner or later the people will take charge the best way they see. She is unfit to hold office and she has no morals. These people are homeless by choice they don’t want to change. And our police chief has no backbone. Laws are on the books enforce them. I believe he took an oath to protect and serve. Really doing a poor job. People are getting tired of being harassed on ever corner and every Circle K and QT.
When the Snow birds quit coming there goes the tax revenue that pays these people’s wages. Are these officials really that stupid. Vote them all out of office!
I erote th e post on Next door app . I asked this guy not to smoke that garbage next to me and he got angry pulled a knife on me and I had to run for my life. 3bdays later same bus stop same guy decides he wanted to finish what he started until he was looking down the barrel of my gu. And he ran . I could have shot him and been justified to do so. Bit I don’t want to hurt anyone and I don’t want that on my conscience either. But ill be damned if I. Going to let some idiot kill me or someone else in my presence either. This city is in serious trouble. I been here 30 years and watched its demise slowly happening
This mayor is either getting kickbacks from the cartel for letting them funnel that garbage in to our city or she just don’t care about her citizens either way I refuse to be a victim. So use me as you may to help any way I can.
We need change in leadership to Save Tucson. We have that opportunity NOW. We have a solution in Janet JL Wittenbraker. https://www.janet4mayor.com/platform but it will take your help. If you’d like to meet her, please reach out. We can set it up for small visits with your friends, family, and neighbors in your homes or businesses. We can arrange larger meet and greets as well. If you know you want to do what you can to help Save Tucson, please sign up to volunteer. If you have questions about volunteering, reach out to Tara 520-710-7753 or SaveTucson@gmail.com. We need grassroots volunteers to fight the dark money funding these progressive policies destroying our city. I’ve had my life affected in too many ways to sit back—from raising my niece because drug addiction and homelessness were an option for her parents. Housing First only made it worse. They had a free place to use with no requirement to work or do anything for it. Her dad died last year. Her mom had one year clean yesterday because she had to do jail time, detoxed in jail, went to treatment after and has gotten help and now has a job and feels good about her life and her choices to do and be better. My niece’s boyfriend died because of drugs. We had a homeschooled friend who went to high school die from fentanyl poisoning in her late teens. Someone close to me was stabbed in an attempted carjacking. The criminal was doing a drug deal that went awry on the free drug bus near El Con. The beginning of summer before her senior year at the U of A, getting her Starbucks and that happened to her. Thankfully, there was reasonable justice in a 13-year sentence. Twenty was what was hoped for. We chose Tucson to raise our homeschooled kids for the arts, culture, and educational opportunities. It’s sad to head to a theater class downtown and pass all the suffering, drug addicted people. We have to drive down Grant from I-10 to get into the city, the sight is horrendous. If you haven’t had this touch your life, you will if we keep Regina Romero in office. This mayor and council’s policies promote this decay. Tucson needs help. Elect JL Wittenbraker for a Cleaner, Safer, More Prosperous Tucson. We also have candidates in the three open council seats—Victoria Lem in Ward 1, Ernie Shack in Ward 2, and Ross Kaplowitch in Ward 4 who also know that this can’t continue and will work to stop the homelessness and crime (and fix the state of our roads.) If you can’t volunteer, share their names with your sphere of influence. Electing all of them would make a huge change because the progressives would no longer have the majority vote. Tucson has very low voter turnout especially in these off year elections. PLEASE VOTE!
