"Anybody BUT ROMERO for Mayor!"

TCFC is non-partisan BUT supports CHANGE. New Tucson leadership is needed specifically in the office of the Mayor. However we have a problem in the upcoming election with Ed Ackerley (Independent), Janet Wittenbraker (Republican) and Arthur Kerschen (Libertarian) all challenging incumbent Regina Romero (Democrat). By having three challengers, Romero is almost guaranteed a victory. We have tremendous respect for all candidates, they have all sacrificed time, effort and money to take on the difficult role of being candidates, however, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE. We are calling on Mr. Ackerley, Ms. Wittenbraker and Mr. Kerschen to set differences aside and come up with a solution where two candidates exit the race and support the remaining candidate. Tucson cannot afford FOUR more years of Regina Romero's failed policies. Any candidate that makes the selfless decision to put the betterment of our City over themselves will only be regarded as a hero. Time is running out, a decision needs to be made by FRIDAY, AUGUST 25th due to the deadline of final ballots being printed.

This time it's NOT ABOUT PERSON or PARTY!, ITS ABOUT TUCSON's Survival!

Here are the demographics of the City Of Tucson registered voters:

This is Mr. Ackerley’s second run for mayor as an Independent. In his previous run he received 39% of the vote compared to Romero’s 56% of the vote.  View his campaign website and contact information here:

This is Ms. Wittenbraker's first run for office. As a Republican candidate, she enjoys the advantage of having 900 Republican Precinct Committeeman behind her to aid in canvasing and door knocking. View her campaign website and contact information here:

Arthur Kerschen - Running as a Libertarian

Read the Tim Steller Article content strongly infers that, ROMERO WILL WIN IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE OPPOSITION CANDIDATE!  We NEED one candidate to challenge Romero for Mayor.

"It was always going to be a hard challenge for anyone to beat Tucson Mayor Regina Romero as she runs for re-election this year.

But with two opposing candidates, is it even possible? Wouldn’t just one opposition candidate bring a seemingly impossible task into the realm of the barely possible?

When you look back at 2019, it makes you wonder."

100 Acres Park; Mayor Romero supported, latest sanctioned Drugs, Crime and Humanitarian Disaster

Last week TCFC steering leaders went into the 100 Acres encampment located at Swan and Golf Links. TPD officers have been given a directive from Mayor Romero and the City Council not to enter the encampment and to leave it alone. Imagine if you lived in a neighborhood where law enforcement had no presence. That is essentially what is occurring in this fentanyl encampment. City of Tucson Leadership: Be humane and clear this sanctioned fentanyl encampment and return the park to the citizens of Tucson! Attached are pictures from the tour.

It was so hot that we could not operate our cell phones for more than 10 minutes before overheating.  You will also see dogs kept in inhumane conditions.  If no one seems to care about people, what about the dogs?  Where is Pima Animal Control?  Where is PETA?  Where is the Humane Society?  One lady had 4 puppies.  Two dogs hid under an abandoned vehicle for shade.

If and when the Mayor and Tucson Police Department give the go ahead to start "clearing" or "cleaning" up this fentanyl encampment, the people that are illegally living here will be directed to housing and support services, yet the norm is for these individuals to just move on to the next encampment. We have seen this trend here and nationally, many individuals that live on the streets are doing so by choice.

Even though a majority of them are doing illegal drugs on a daily basis and are in possession of many items that have been stolen from businesses and neighborhoods, there will not be any consequences for criminality. Sheriff Nanos will not allow Tucson Police or Deputies to bring anyone to jail if they have had fentanyl within the last two hours or if they have had Narcan within the past six hours- these people know that, so all they need to do is tell the police they have fentanyl in their system. They are then brought to a hospital but because of the shortage of officers they are dropped off at the doors and able to just walk away and start the process all over again.  Our so-called leaders do not want the problem in the jail so they are releasing the people that are committing crimes and letting all of us deal with it! This is not ok!

This is inhumane for the people living in these conditions and inhumane for the citizens that are forced to deal with this. The Mayor and Council need to step up and do their jobs. They are supposed to be keeping citizens safe and this is not happening! They are throwing so much money into this problem without doing any problem solving - just letting it continue to move around the city!  There are solutions that will help this problem but Mayor Romero and current Council members refuse to do any of this. Start by enforcing our laws!

We must Save Tucson. I know JL will put her all behind her efforts to get elected and so will the grassroots supporting her. We know what’s at stake.

JL Wittenbraker is the ONLY choice for Tucson. She is highly qualified, uoung, physically fit and incredibly dynamic. She has the grassroots Republican support that we’re going to need to beat Romero. Ed Ackerley chose to run as an independent EVEN AFTER HE WAS OFFERED GOP SUPPORT.
He needs to drop out of the mayor’s race and put his support behind Wittenbraker.

I am not arguing your point Tom, our Tucson Police Protective League union us advocating for what you stated. However the reality is that the City, Police Department Policy, Prosecutors, Judges, and Pima County Jail are preventing that from becoming a reality. The Police are only part of the solution and it requires support from all the entities.

I met with Ed Ackerley last week to request he seriously consider stepping out of the 2023 Tucson Mayoral race. This was a difficult conversation because in a fair world, we should all be represented on the ballot thereby giving the voters the final decision. However, we know the Grijalva machine is mighty and it will take a focused, well backed team to beat Regina Romero.

The electoral reality is I am the only candidate capable of winning this election. I have strong mixed party support and am backed by a highly motivated grassroots movement. In other words, I have an army behind me that are ready to fight to save Tucson. I out preformed all the candidates in terms of petition signature collection (percentages/time) and although unopposed in the primary election, Republican turnout increased by approximately 20% with votes cast for me exceeding Mayor Walkup’s record by over 2000. Additionally, I have outraised Ed Ackerley and Arthur Kerschen in a matter of just a couple months with a sizable boost after the primary.

As the next Mayor of Tucson, I will take on the tough issues and will not waiver to protect my business interests. My only job will be that of Mayor so I can serve Tucsonans uncompromised.

I would not have gotten in the race if I honestly believed Ed Ackerley would garner the support necessary to tackle Regina Romero. Instead, I knew his run would be a repeat of 2019 resulting in him fumbling on the 20-yard line.

Let’s not forget Ed Ackerley knew he couldn’t stand on his own and challenged the other Independent candidate causing his disqualification. Still, Ed is no match for me; my stepping out would disenfranchise the grassroots advocates and many would simply not vote as was the case in 2019. I respect both the candidates, but the electoral reality is their participation will only serve to spoil the results.

In closing, I invite Ed and Arthur to get behind me and join me in the fight against the tyrannical Regina Romero to Take Back Tucson.

The situation at 100 Acre really angers me. As we relocated to Tucson for a military move, I was really excited to see the plans that were taking shape. The land belongs to the Air Force, having been split from the base when Golf Links went through. Sonoran Desert Mountain Bikers secured a no-cost lease to turn it into a great entry-level skills park – something that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the area. I was excited at being able to do a lunchtime or post-work ride leaving base, or taking my kids there on weekends to work on the basics without the pressure of being on some of the local trails. SDMB raised money & put a lot of work into building trails & features there. In 3 years here, I’ve been exactly once. It was so overrun with trash and I was threatened by squatters for daring to bike at a bike park. I wouldn’t dare go back unarmed, let alone take my kids. The fact that our Mayor and entire city council is not just complicit but actively encourages this by keeping TPD from doing their job is just criminal. The city should be reimbursing SDMB for all work they’ve put into the place (along with the TWO work trailers full of tools they had stolen in the process).

Failing to maintain law & order is the very definition of a failed state. These candidates need to work together to find any way possible to remove Romero & her supporters from any position of leadership.
